In a direct critique of Trump, Harris accused the former president of wanting to regress the nation and harm the middle class through initiatives like Project 2025. Trump has distanced himself from this conservative agenda, despite six of his former Cabinet secretaries being involved in its creation and publication by the Heritage Foundation.
Harris further warned that a Trump presidency would likely result in tax breaks for major corporations and the dismantling of the Affordable Care Act. She emphasized her commitment to prioritizing the needs of the middle class and working families, asserting that a strong middle class is essential for a strong America.
