Vice President Kamala Harris recently spoke out against the notion that she lacks strong electoral support from Black men, dismissing it as a media-driven narrative. In a pre-recorded interview on 'The Breakfast Club' radio show, Harris emphasized that she has received positive feedback and backing from numerous community leaders and individuals within the Black community.
During the interview, Harris highlighted her interactions with Black men in various settings, including a barber shop in Philadelphia, where she engaged with respected leaders in the community. She expressed gratitude for the support she has received and underscored the importance of addressing the needs and aspirations of the Black community.
Contrary to the perceived lack of support, Harris asserted that her poll numbers among Black men are favorable due to her demonstrated commitment to uplifting the community through hard work and advocacy. She contrasted her approach with that of former President Donald Trump, criticizing his past actions and statements that she believes were detrimental to communities of color.
Harris specifically called out Trump for his controversial remarks and actions, such as his stance on the Central Park Five case, discriminatory practices as a landlord, and perpetuation of birtherism against President Barack Obama. She also condemned Trump's derogatory comments about Black legal immigrants in Ohio.
Overall, Harris emphasized her dedication to earning the support of Black men and reiterated her focus on advancing policies that benefit marginalized communities. She urged against succumbing to negative narratives and pledged to continue engaging with and listening to the concerns of all voters, including Black men.
