Jonnie Irwin said he went from "no symptoms" to a terminal cancer diagnosis within days.
The A Place in the Sun presenter told the world he had been given six months to live back in November. He initially sought medical advice after suffering from blurred vision while driving.
The 48-year-old, who also hosts BBC’s Escape To The Country, was diagnosed with lung cancer which has spread to his brain. Jonnie said he had chosen to keep his illness private until last month, but hopes that sharing his diagnosis will encourage others to "make the most of every day".

Jonnie told Mail Online he'd been living with lung cancer for years without realising. The 49-year-old said: "I went from no symptoms at all to a terminal diagnosis in a couple of days, and we had two month-old twins and Rex, and had moved house three months earlier."
The tumours had grown, without symptoms, and spread through his body to the lymph nodes until they were pressing against his brain. Since then, Jonnie has undergone gruelling medical treatments including radiotherapy to his brain. He said he has lived beyond his first prognosis, but the cancer has now spread to his liver.
Once Christmas is over, the family said they will be planning Jonnie's 50th birthday party. The actual day is in November, but they're holding the party in January, so he can enjoy it.
