John Bishop has issued a warning to followers on Instagram.
The 55-year-old is currently touring his Right Here Right Now stage show across the UK. John regularly shares updates on social media from his comedy career and has built up 787k followers on Instagram.
However, John has been forced to take to the social media platform to warn fans to be vigiliant of a fake account which is impersonating him.

He said: "He said: "A number of people have informed me that there is a scam merchant with a fake account impersonating me. I want to confirm I would never DM anyone I do not already know. I would never ask any individual for money even if if was disguised as a request to support a charity.
John added: "We are hoping to get this matter resolved as quickly as possible. Thank you for your vigilance."
Fans flooded the comments to thank John for the warning and confirmed they had blocked the fake account.
Jess said: "Good man". Jennifer commented: "I had some messages and comments from this account, which is using your photos. Have blocked."
Emma added: "Yep had the message ignored it and deleted x". Meanwhile Tina posted : "I’ve had 2 from ‘John’ & one from his ‘PA’. I’ve blocked & reported."
