Jobcentre Plus is to open a new branch within Ayr town centre's main shopping mall.
The base – a temporary move to offer increased employment support in the region – will see the unit open later this month.
Bosses at the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP) stressed the new branch was in no way a replacement for its current service in the town's John Street, which will continue to operate as normal.
The lease within Ayr Central is part of the UK Government's current roll-out of "temporary jobcentres" to deal with increased demand.
They said the Ayr Central branch would provide "tailored face-to-face support in a Covid-secure environment" and help "support more people back into work and progress into new roles".
Across Britain, the DWP has recruited 13,500 additional work coaches to cope with rising demand.
Officials said the office within Ayr Central will be used to "temporarily supplement" the existing base at John Street.
