Jet2 announce jobs at Leeds Bradford Airport as holiday demand continues

Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) has already welcomed more than one million passengers through its doors this year as the travel industry continues to face huge demand.

Airports and airlines have suffered a surge in angry customers who've been forced to wait in snaking queues in the past months as a number of flights have been cancelled or delayed.

In response to the chaos in the travel industry over the past weeks Jet2 is looking to take on plenty of new staff to accommodate to the demand.

Jet2.com are offering a number of jobs including roles as a baggage agent at Leeds Bradford Airport on a permanent all year round contract basis.

The baggage agent positions are available on a 30 hour per week permanent contract basis, with hours rising to 37.5 hours per week during the busy summer months (May - October). The role is an essential operational support to aircraft loading and turnaround and ensure the safe and secure transportation of hold items as people get away on their Jet2holiday.

According to the advert, key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the accurate and timely allocation of hold items to the correct aircraft.
  • Driving airside vehicles and supporting the transportation of items to the aircraft whilst meeting set Service Level Agreements.
  • Working with Ramp Agent team to load the aircraft, adhering to loading instructions and weight & balance parameters.
  • Unloading of inbound hold and luggage and ensuring correct distribution onto Baggage Carousels.
  • Working to legal and company requirements; operating in a safe manner and maintaining a clear and safe working environment.
  • Ensuring the delivery of an effective and friendly service that meets the needs of customers and promotes brand values.

The role is described as ' physically demanding' as employees will be working in all weather conditions, as well as in the baggage make up area, the role involves loading high volumes of items, up to 32kg in weight on every shift. Successful candidates will be given full training.
