Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance expressed his willingness to engage in a second debate with Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as they gear up for their first vice presidential debate next month.
Vance, speaking in Leesport, Pennsylvania, stated, 'I’d love to have a second debate. We’ve actually offered Tim Walz a second debate, and they’ve totally rejected it. I actually think that you should have to earn this job.'
The upcoming debate between Vance and Walz is scheduled to be hosted by CBS on October 1. Vance had previously agreed to a second debate, but the offer was not accepted by the Harris-Walz campaign at that time.
Former President Donald Trump, who is running alongside Vance, mentioned during a rally in Wilmington, North Carolina, that it was 'too late' to engage in another debate with Kamala Harris after the vice president accepted an invitation for an October matchup. Trump highlighted, 'The problem with another debate is that it’s just too late, voting has already started.'
