Having long been very outspoken on Irish issues while playing in the UK, McClean has been a target for abuse from opposition supporters for the majority of he professional career.
With 103 caps for his country, McClean has spent time playing for Sunderland, Stoke, Wigan and West Brom after moving to England from Derry City in 2011.
