James Forrest DOES have a future at Celtic as Brendan Rodgers admits 'it's all about staying fit now'.
The Hoops legend has struggled for game time of late at Parkhead with Ange Postecoglou preferring to start with the likes of Jota and Daizen Maeda on the flanks while Liel Abada was more often than not the one called upon after the duo in the pecking order. The 31-year-old was a big player for the new manager during his first stint in charge and says when he is fit and ready he is a 'fantastic' player for the Scottish champions.
Forrest managed 23 appearances in all competitions last season and scored five goals including a Scottish Premiership hat-trick against Hibs. He followed up that game with another strike against fellow capital club Hearts but much of his game time came from the bench.

It will be a different type of Forrest that Rodgers will work with this time around with the stage of his career he is at now. It is all about keeping fit and that will see him remain in the plans of the 50-year-old.
Asked if Forrest has a future at the club, the Celtic boss responded: “Yes. James is at the stage of his career where it’s slightly different. For him, it’s all about staying fit now.
“He was such an important player in the squad last time and he was a great guy to work with. I’m looking forward to seeing him again.
“It’s been a challenge for him, but I’ve seen snippets of him where, when he’s fit and ready, he is a fantastic player for Celtic.”
