Emmerdale star Samantha Giles has taken a swipe at Emmerdale bosses after their ‘mistake’ at killing off a soap favourite.
Samantha Giles, 51, has been talking about what is planned for the ITV soap's 50th anniversary with rumours various characters could be killed off. As the Daily Star reports, the actress who plays Bernice Blackstock felt bosses were wrong to kill off former popular character Val Pollard.
As Emmerdale fans likely remember, Val was killed off in 2015 after the character was in the soap for 11 years. This happened after a helicopter crashed into the village and Val became trapped.

Val’s demise came after a large shard of glass fell from above and impaled her. Samantha was sad to see the character killed off.
She said: “I think Val was great, she was such a fabulous character. There was no one like her on the programme, and I think it was a mistake to kill her really, in my opinion.
“I think she should still be in it. She was amazing - why did they kill her?”
