Three mosques in southern Lebanon have been hit by Israeli fire, resulting in partial or complete destruction, amidst escalating tensions between Hezbollah and Israel.
Videos shared on social media and verified by sources depict the aftermath of the attacks. In Kfar Tebnit, the minaret of a mosque was reduced to rubble, while the main building sustained significant damage. The Lebanese state news agency NNA attributed the destruction to an Israeli airstrike, which also claimed the lives of four individuals and caused extensive harm to nearby structures and vehicles.
Another video, also geolocated by sources, shows the mosque in Dhohaira being targeted and destroyed by Israeli forces. Additionally, reports indicate that a third mosque in Nabatiyeh suffered damage as a result of Israeli airstrikes on the city market.
The Lebanese Red Cross responded to the situation in Nabatiyeh, describing it as a major airstrike that led to severe fires hindering access to the affected area. Search and rescue operations were initiated promptly, with the Lebanese Ministry of Health reporting at least eight injuries in the preliminary assessment.
Efforts to obtain a response from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) regarding these incidents are ongoing, with no official statement received as of yet.
