Elites Are Secretly Eating Mermaids to 'Remain in Control,' TikTok Conspiracy Theorists Claim

Social media users are alleging that wealthy elites are eating mermaids in order to maintain their status in a bizarre new conspiracy theory that has been making rounds online.

Earlier this month, videos of users claiming to know people who caught and worked with these fantastical creatures within the culinary industry started to go viral on TikTok. The videos allege that dinner parties are being hosted by those with immense wealth where "mermaid flesh" is served, sometimes even referred to as "filet of mermaid," and some have reported elevated or even supernatural capabilities after consuming the meal.

One TikTok user claiming to be the original source for this conspiracy theory received an email from someone who allegedly attended one of these dinner parties, proceeding to share the story online.

The email was from a man named Jonah, who stated that he paid $50,000 to be able to attend the event and that he was taken to a secret location in a limo while the host of the event donned a creepy mask.

"The flavor was exquisite, unlike anything he'd ever known, sweet like scallops, rich like wagyu and with a depth of umami that seemed to awaken something deep in his senses," Jonah allegedly reported. "It's as if he was tasting the ocean itself—not just its bounty, but its soul."

"He then said 'a warmth spread through my body. My heartbeat slowed, my breath deepened. Around me, the other guests had closed their eyes, their faces soft with pleasure.'"

Jonah continues to describe the feeling of "a low, resonant hum, a vibration in my bones and my blood." He then said his mind "was filled with visions of deep blue waters, endless and calm, filled with whispers—not words, but emotions, memories, as if the sea itself had opened to him, revealing its secrets."

Another user told the story of a fishing boat worker named Landon, who allegedly caught a mermaid while working with his cousin. Landon and his cousin reportedly signed NDAs before transporting the creature to what seemed to be a warehouse, but in reality, was a Hibachi restaurant. Customers within the restaurant then ate the mermaid while it was strapped to a gurney.

Though these videos have begun making rounds on social media, there is no evidence supporting these claims, nor is there any to suggest that mermaids really exist.
