Ireland is set to miss out on an incredible blast of heat after a ‘cruel’ forecast sees temperatures remain relatively low.
London will see highs of 32C this week as a band of hot air moves across the south of the country, narrowly missing Ireland.
A forecaster said: “They say sport can be a cruel game but look at the latest forecast for temperatures Friday. Up to 32c in London but Ireland below 20c for most”.

They added: “A few showers today but then largely dry up to Thursday, especially away from the Northwest. However, very uncertain from Thursday onwards with a risk of heavy rain Thursday into Friday that could just clip the Northwest or move further across Ireland or indeed miss us all.”

Today
Breezy this afternoon with bright or sunny spells and scattered blustery showers, most frequent and possibly heavy in Ulster and north Leinster. It will be drier this evening as showers become isolated.
Highest temperatures of 14 to 19 degrees, mildest in the southeast, with a moderate to fresh westerly breeze.
Most areas will be dry with clear spells tonight. However, it will be cloudier with well scattered showers in the west and north. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 11 degrees, coolest in the south and southeast, with a light to moderate westerly breeze.
Monday, June 13
Many areas will stay dry tomorrow, with well scattered showers mainly affecting the north and west. There will be occasional sunny periods.
Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees, with a light to moderate west to southwest wind.
Generally dry with clear spells and just light southwest breezes. Patchy drizzle will arrive into the Northwest and west later.
Lowest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees, coolest across the east and southeast.
Tuesday, June 14
Generally dry with a mix of cloud and sunny spells with just patchy drizzle. The cloud will thin out later, allowing evening sunshine to break through widely.
Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees in just light southerly or variable breezes.
Patchy drizzle will move into the west and Northwest again overnight but with primarily dry conditions elsewhere; lows of 8 to 12 degrees.
Wednesday, June 15
Patchy rain and drizzle will affect the Northwest and west whilst staying largely dry elsewhere.
Top temperatures of 15 to 21 degrees, warmest in the sunshine across Leinster and east Munster, all in just light variable or southerly breezes.
