Romeo Beckham, son of David, on Tuesday took the next step in his rise to football prominence as he came off the bench for Inter Miami against Barcelona.

There was little to cheer about for the hosts as Barca ran the show from the off, winning 6-0 as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang opened the scoring the new signing Raphinha scored one and assisted two more in the rout in Florida.

But, with four minutes to play, head coach Phil Neville turned to his bench to give both Beckham Jnr and his own son, Harvey, for a run out.

It marks quite the month for Romeo, who a little over a week earlier scored his first goal for Inter Miami's second-string side in a 3-1 win over Orlando City B. It was, of course, a free kick.

Dad David responded on Instagram to the goal with the post "great free kick mate, more goals to come", to which son Romeo replied: "Love u dad that was for you (sic)."
