The long awaited second season of Bridgerton was released on Friday (March 25) and it's consumed the life of fans ever since. Whether you've binged the entire season already or you're trying to spread the enjoyment out - the 18th century regency romance is an absolute experience.
From the regal balls to the stunning gowns, everything about Bridgerton transports you. It's a complete shot at escapism and the short trip back to reality once you turn the tv off is ever so humbling.
So, I went on a hunt for a Bristol restaurant where I could at least try and enjoy some of the Bridgerton aesthetic in real life. Whilst scrolling through my Instagram feed I saw the florist promoting their new 'brunch boards' and they caught my attention.

I've visited the Park Street restaurant before, although for an evening meal as opposed to Brunch, but I remembered that the interior is near enough as close to Bridgerton as I can find in Bristol. I made a booking via the website and begun my investigations into these 'brunch boards'.
The menu for the brunch board offers six categories, where you can choose one option from each. There are sweet and savoury options and it's priced at £15, with optional add-on's at different prices. The options include sausage, eggs, Nutella French toast, carrot cake overnight oats and more. If you'd like, you can pay an additional £15 and add bottomless drinks, too.
I chose: the fried eggs, Cumberland sausage wheel, warm croissant, passionfruit and coconut chia yoghurt pot, Nutella French toast and carrot cake overnight oats. The boards take a 'tapas' type shape and I decided to share mine with my boyfriend although there is certainly not too much food for one person.
I tried the croissant first and it was exceptional. Fresh and warm, with the perfect crunch outside and softness inside. Along with the strawberry jam it was delicious and difficult to not order another.
The fried eggs were also good. Nothing more special than your average eggs but how much can you ask for with fried eggs? I don't eat pork myself but my boyfriend gave the Cumberland sausage wheel with bacon a go next. He was impressed with the bacon but didn't even manage to finish the sausage.
I'm not a Nutella fan but the French Toast was nice, the Nutella wasn't too heavy and so I enjoyed it. However, if you're a Nutella lover you may desire a little more of the chocolate spread.
Next up, the apparently passionfruit and coconut yoghurt. The flavour was absent, it simply tasted like milk and I didn't get past the first half spoonful. Sadly I didn't have much more appreciation for the carrot cake overnight oats.
The flavour was there, unlike the yoghurt, but the texture was just too unappealing for me. Perhaps this is just a personal qualm, though.
On a brighter note, I ordered a mojito made up of Bacardi Coconut, Jawbox Pineapple & Ginger Liqueur, guava juice, almond syrup and mint and it was absolutely delicious. Despite the relatively disappointing 'brunch board' I do still love the Florist for drinks or dinner so I'll be ordering the mojito again.
The Florist's interiors however are completely stunning. The decadence takes over all three floors and the sunlight on the top floor makes it a beautiful place to spend the morning. The dramatic curtains and floral, velvet chairs are completely 'Bridgerton-esque'; alongside the grand doors and fireplaces.
Whilst my taste buds weren't exactly tingling, it's not the worst brunch I've ever had. It was certainly 'Instagrammable' and I did feel like Lady Danbury was going to burst through the doors at any given moment.
