I tried Fit Foods' new healthy soups and there was one clear favourite

Fit Foods has just come out with a new range of soups and with the days getting colder and colder, the time to try them has never been more appropriate.

The range is available exclusively in Dunnes Stores throughout Ireland and from Dublin Meat Company’s shops and for online ordering in Dublin. Soups available include Hearty Chicken, Wholesome Vegetable and Thai Sweet Potato and Chicken and Vegetable.

Founded by the Dublin Meat Company, Fit Foods offers a range of healthy meals that are quick and convenient to make, and have become popular among office workers and those on the go. With that in mind, it was time to put the soups to the test ourselves.

There was one clear winner out of the range. The Thai Sweet Potato soup was simply divine, consisting of exciting flavours that added a good dose of unique flavour to what is normally quite a regular lunch dish.

Each spoonful was as exciting as the next with strong hints of ginger, coriander and chilli, giving me the comfort I seek in a good bowl of soup but the thrill I enjoy with a good Thai curry. The small soft cubes of sweet potato were also a welcome feature.

Although the Thai Sweet Potato soup took the gold, the other soups in the Fit Foods range were enjoyable. Next on the hitlist was the Hearty Chicken Soup, ideal for a dull Monday lunchtime.

With chunks of veg and small pieces of chicken throughout, it was a thoroughly enjoyable chicken soup and gave me all the comfort I was looking for. Meanwhile, the Chicken and Vegetable soup consisted of tender chicken as well as huge chunks of carrot and potato, reminiscent of a wholesome, heart-warming chicken stew best enjoyed on a grey day.

Finally, the Wholesome Vegetable Soup remained to be tasted. A welcome surprise came in the form of the lentils throughout, which added a nice texture to each spoonful, as well as flavourful vegetables such as onion, carrot, parsnip and leek.

Overall, the soup range from Fit Foods left an impression as a worthy lunchtime option in the winter months, offering a diverse range of flavours for different taste buds and an option for those who are trying to be more health conscious during the colder months of the year. The Fit Foods soups are available in Dunnes Stores for €2.50 a pot or two for €4.50. Meanwhile, you can get two for €4 on the Dublin Meat Company website.
