Hundreds gathered outside the Dáil yesterday evening for a vigil held in memory of Aidan Moffitt and Michael Snee.
The men were found dead in their own homes in Sligo earlier in the week.
A 22-year-old man has since been charged with their murders.
The poignant vigil took place at 6pm with large crowds gathering on Kildare Street to lay candles and flowers.
Many became emotional during the vigil with flags and banners displayed in the crowd.
Sinn Fein leader, Mary Lou McDonald told Dublin Live that she attended the vigil to pay respect to the men's families.
She said: "It's important to pay our respects and pay our condolences. You can feel the shock here and the sadness. It's a very moving event."
A moment's silence was held at the vigil before the Gloria choir performed emotional renditions of 'Somewhere over the Rainbow' and 'May the Road Rise to Meet you."
Other vigils to remember the Sligo men are being held across the country in the coming days.
