Huge three-day event with silent disco, street food and rooftop yoga taking place in Manchester

A huge three-day weekender has been announced for the launch of the ABC Buildings in the Spinningfields area of Manchester city centre. Taking place next weekend, a variety of free activities and events will take place across the creative hub, which includes a roofdeck and glass dome.

The action-packed weekend will have everything from a night-time silent disco - held in the dome - and street food to rooftop yoga and a kids' rave. There'll also be music from Reform Radio DJs, a vintage flea market, classic football screenings and stand-up comedy.

The three-day event series at the ABC Buildings on Quay Street, just across from 20 Stories and The Ivy, will show the brutalist 1960s building in a new way. The creative hub also houses the Everyman Cinema, Barry's Bootcamp, St John's Bread and Coffee House, Bar & Lounge and ABC Gallery.

The weekender will kick off on Friday, June 17, with a Monique Carayol, ex-NHS Board executive director, and coach for theMakings giving a guest speech. From 4, the party starts, with food by Kong's Meat and Three, and the silent disco.

Day two, will begin with the vintage flea market on the rooftop, accompanied by pop-ups bars and street food. The day will be wrapped up by a Northern Soul takeover at Side Street Studio.

The final day of activities will be a little more relaxing, as one of the instructors from Yogasoul will lead a morning yoga session on the roofdeck, followed by healthy juice and breakfast served in the dome. But, for something a bit more up-tempo, Kids' rave specialists, Big Fish little Fish will be hosting a kids and parents rave in the afternoon.

The launch will also coincide with the launch of a group art show curated by Monica Colussi to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee. Lasting six weeks, the exhibition will showcase a collection 28 unique pieces paying homage to the royal occasion.

The ABC Launch Weekend takes place next weekend, 17-19 June, to grab your free tickets, visit the website here.
