The Heaton Park Food and Drink festival is set to return for 2023. Last year’s event saw over 10,000 people attending, taking in the food stalls and demonstrations.
This year, organisers are promising an ‘expanded experience’, featuring interactive cheese, wine, whiskey and chocolate tasting sessions put together by local experts. There will also be cocktail making classes, with the other demos taking place in the festival’s own cookery theatre.
The ‘street food arena’ will feature everything from boa buns to tacos and desserts, with a focus on local producers, and will boast its own ‘ale house’, with other bars serving wines, spirits and cocktails. Meanwhile, entertainment over the weekend will include live music, a live entertainers stage, kids activities, and ‘roaming comedy’ acts.

Festival director Michael Johnston said: “It was awesome seeing so many people of all ages enjoying themselves last year. We had lots of food, incredible chef demos, wacky entertainment and live music on stage. This year we’re looking to bring a more immersive, interactive element to the event.
“Last year proved this is a festival where you can bring all your friends & family to soak up the atmosphere. We’ve something for everyone. Whether it’s getting fully involved in all the live entertainment, mooching round the stalls, or simply lounging on a deckchair, sipping a drink and listening to live music.”
It takes place on August 12 and 13, and tickets costing £4.95 per adult are available now.
