How to get Marco Pierre White's signature bolognese at home

How does Marco Pierre White's signature bolognese sound for a casual Wednesday night dinner?

Or perhaps you'd prefer Manu Feidel's beef bourguignon - eaten from the couch while watching the Olympics rather than in a restaurant?

It sounds a little far-fetched to have such easy access to restaurant-quality meals from some of the world's best chefs. And yet, for Canberrans, it can also be a reality.

Providoor has just launched in Canberra - an online frozen food delivery service that takes meals created by celebrity chefs freezes them and then delivers them to your door.

The delivery service is already in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, and Providoor chief executive Sam Benjamin says the expansion into the capital comes after six months of enquiries.

"Canberra has a well-earned reputation for some exquisite food scenes and we can't wait to see which dish becomes a favourite - will it be Marco's signature bolognese, George Calombaris's braised beef moussaka, or Luke Nguyen's massaman beef curry with sandalwood nut?" he said.

"The nation's capital has a vibrant food culture and we are eager to offer residents access to some of Australia's best culinary creations from the comfort of their homes.

"Whether it's a special occasion or a simple desire for a great meal, Providoor is here to elevate home dining experiences."

The driving force behind Providoor is to make gourmet dining experiences more accessible - both from a distance point of view and a price. Most main meals serve two people for $38 or under, with options for bundle boxes and larger dining parties.

The selection of dishes comes from chefs including Luke Nguyen, Silvia Colloca, Gary Mehigan, Anna Polyviouu, Justin Narayan and Christine Manfield.

"Providoor is a popular option for an increasing number of time-poor families and we know that there is a growing awareness amongst consumers about reducing food waste," Benjamin said.

"This is why we're seeing such strong growth in the pre-prepared frozen meal market in Australia and with the latest technology to ensure restaurant quality meals at home, we can now offer our food to a wider range of customers."
