Yemen’s Houthi militant group claimed responsibility for firing three cruise missiles towards Israel on Wednesday. The group stated that the missiles successfully hit their targets, although no evidence was provided to support this assertion.
The Houthis, who are aligned with an Iran-led alliance, have escalated their attacks on Israel and its allies since the onset of the conflict in Gaza last year. They reported launching three Quds 5 cruise missiles in this recent incident.
However, an Israeli military spokesperson stated that they were not aware of any missile attacks originating from Yemen. The Houthis have been involved in targeting commercial vessels in the Red Sea and the Strait of Bab al-Mandab since November.
The group has declared that they will continue their attacks until a ceasefire is achieved in Gaza. Additionally, they issued a warning to the United States and the United Kingdom, cautioning that their support for Israel could jeopardize their interests in the region and make them vulnerable to further attacks.
