Hour-by-hour weather forecast for North East on Monday as Met Office issue yellow warning for snow and ice

People across the North East should prepare themselves for the possibility of more snow.

Another yellow weather warning will come into force at 5pm on Monday for snow and ice. It will cover the whole of the region and is set to last until 10am on Tuesday.

Forecasters predict more rain on Monday. It will be wintry at times, especially over high ground, and will remain breezy for much of the day. The maximum temperature is expected to be 11 °C.

There is expected to be a frosty start on Tuesday before the weather turns drier and sunnier. The Met Office predict that there will be a few snow showers.
