This is the moment a dolphin attacked its trainer and dragged her underwater during a live display in front of horrified families.
The shocking video shows the animal, called Sundance, turn on her handler during a Flipper show at Miami Seaquarium.
In the clip, posted to Tik Tok by photographer Shannon Carpenter, the dolphin can be seen suddenly diverting from the choreography and rushing towards the woman.
Audience members watch on in terror as Sundance then repeatedly lunges at the performer, pushing the performer back as she tries to reach the edge of the pool, the Daily Star reports.
Thankfully, she is able to pull herself from the water shortly after, visibly shaken and seemingly in pain.
Another trainer can be seen kneeling down beside her, reports the MailOnline.
Ms Carpenter told local news network WPLG Local 10 that the kids spectating were “cheering and thinking this was neat”.
“You could tell the adults knew something was wrong,” she continued. “You could tell she was in some type of pain.”
The trainer was picked up by an ambulance soon after and taken to an area hospital, the outlet reported.
Seaquarium based in Mexico addressed the incident on Monday night (April 12) and said the dolphin and trainer "accidentally collided in the water on Saturday while performing a routine behaviour as part of the Flipper show."
"This was an uncomfortable interaction for both of them and the dolphin reacted by breaking away from the routine and striking the trainer," they said.
"As a precaution, Miami-Dade County safety authorities were contacted.
"Our family extends to include the animals in our care, our team members and our guests. While there is no apparent serious injury, a careful watch and follow-up evaluations will ensure the best care for all."
Dolphin attacks on human are incredibly rare, with only one recorded case of a bottlenose dolphin ever killing a human being.
