Horrified house hunters have slammed a £550-a-month London 'flat-share' rental with EIGHT BUNK BEDS in one dorm - likening it to a 'Russian prison'.
The furnished flat posted on Rightmove by estate agent Scraye is described as including a 'shared dorm room with six to eight beds' and shared shower facilities.
The ad boasts that the building is designed for 'affordable shared living accommodation' and comes with a large well-equipped kitchen, a lounge area with sofas and desks and an outdoor seating space in a large garden.
The building, in Kilburn, London, is also described as 'modern' and on a quiet street.
Scraye said that the price and listings were set 'at the discretion of the owners' and not them as estate agents.
They admitted that house hunters 'might occasionally find properties they think are overpriced or not in great condition'.
Although bills such as energy, water and basic wifi are included in the rent, the property caught the attention of shocked house hunters who couldn't believe the price, which was more than one commentor's mortgage.
Others compared the dorm room to army barracks, a Russian prison and a 'Victorian flophouse'.
One wrote: "Might as well join the army. They let you live in a room like this for free."
Another said: "This is more than my mortgage. Surely they can't seriously ask that much to live there."
A third added: "Ah, there it is. We've finally gone full Victorian flop house."
One commentor described the property as their 'absolute nightmare'.
Another added: "Jesus Christ, that bedroom looks like a Russian prison."
After being contacted by journalists, Scraye removed the listing from Rightmove.
A Scraye spokesperson said: "Kindly note we operate a platform approach for landlords - landlords pick what properties they wish to list and set the price rather than Scraye.
"Following your email, we looked into the matter specifically (please keep in mind we receive many thousands of listings annually) and the landlord's company confirmed the building is licensed as a hotel and includes some rooms with bunk beds priced at £18 per night.
"These rooms have now been removed by request.
"To conclude, it is important to reiterate that listings and pricing are at the discretion of the owners, not Scraye.
"Similar to other platforms like [names of other branded platforms removed], readers might occasionally find properties or cars they think are overpriced or not in great condition."
Rightmove were asked what their policy was on dorm rooms on their site but failed to respond.
