The ‘lakeside dining domes’ at Heaton Park are all set to return for the summer. The domes give an unrivalled view of the park’s calming lake, while offering up afternoon teas, and this year, they’ll be introducing an evening menu too.
The wooden domes are fitted with shaded glazing and air conditioning for warmer days, and for those wishing to take to the water, there are brand new electric craft, traditional rowing boats and the swan pedal boats.
The new afternoon tea menus come with a selection of sandwiches, a Free-range Heaton Scotch Egg, and a homemade sage and onion roll. On the sweet side, there’s a chocolate brownie with salted caramel ganache, a homemade victoria sponge, the Heaton Park house scone with homemade jam and vanilla chantilly cream and a baked meringue with pineapple and passionfruit.

There’s a children's afternoon tea too, which comes served on a decorative wooden boat, with kids able to choose from fruit juice or a babyccino, while the menu features a Manchester Bee sandwich, sausage roll, a mini-scone with homemade jam and cream, the homemade victoria sponge and chocolate brownie bites.
