If nothing else, comedian Harry Hill is known for his bizarre, alternative comedy which often leaves viewers either in stitches or completely bemused. And his appearance on BBC Breakfast on Monday, October 24 was one of his finest examples of this with presenter, Victoria Fritz, appearing rather baffled.
The 58-year-old comedian was appearing on the morning show to plug his new tour and had brought on insanely creepy ventriloquist doll, Gary. Victoria, who remained polite during the exchange, couldn't seem to make head or tail of the TV Burp host, as she asked him questions about his time during lockdown, his upcoming tour, and the current political climate and he referred to politicians as 'traybakes' and 'tears-and-shares'. At one point Victoria even admitted she found Gary, 'creepy' and was glad it wasn't sat next to her, reported MyLondon.
When Victoria asked Harry about his thoughts on the politicians in the running to become the next prime minister, the comedian told the presenter: "I allocate people into two groups tray-bakes or tears-and-shares." To which Victoria, lost for words, appeared to have nothing to say except 'ok'.

Viewers at home were quickly left squirming at the awkward interview, taking to Twitter to express their discomfort. "Poor BBC Breakfast presenter has clearly never seen a Harry Hill show before. #traybake," wrote one person, as another agreed: "This interview with Harry Hill is awful. @BBCBreakfast trying their best to make sense out of Hill. #bbcbreakfast."
One person questioned the choice of a comedian on the show during the current political climate, tweeting: "I like Harry Hill but I'm unsure an interview with him is suited to BBC Breakfast news while the world goes to hell in a handcart." A third person wrote: "What the HECK is the interview with Harry Hill - car crash TV," while a fourth added: "That Harry Hill interview on BBC Breakfast was... bizarre."
As she waved goodbye to Harry at the end of the show, Victoria appeared to force herself to tell him it was "lovely" to have Gary the doll join them on the show - but then added: "I'm glad he's that side of you. He's really, really, really, creepy..." Laughing awkwardly, Victoria concluded, "it's been a long day," as the interview ended at 8am.
