Harry and Meghan Markle's children 'have NOT yet been invited to Charles' Coronation'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children have reportedly not yet been invited to King Charles’ Coronation, amid reports this is a sticking point in negotiations between The Firm and the couple.

King Charles’ coronation is due to take place on May 6, but there remains uncertainty over the Sussexes' involvement in the day.

It hasn’t yet been confirmed if the couple will be in attendance even though they have been invited.

The Mirror previously reported on claims that tense talks between the couple and the firm threatened to plunge the occasion into “chaos”.

A major sticking point in negotiations was said to be what role the Sussex children, Archie, three, and Lilibet, one, would have.

But while an invitation has been issued to the parents, The Times have reported that the child prince and princess have not yet been invited. Harry and Meghan are not scheduled to take part in the procession themselves.

Rehearsal plans show that it is confined to working members of the royal family, and Prince Andrew's daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, are also not planned to be in the procession either.

The Sussexes already announced they received an invitation to the coronation but have not confirmed if they will actually go.

This came amid revelations from the outlet that all three of the Prince of Wales’ children would take part in the King’s coronation procession at Westminster Abbey.

George, nine, Charlotte, seven, and Louis, four, are set to join their grandfather and the Queen consort as they leave the abbey and head back to Buckingham Palace.

The outlet also reported that this coronation is set to be around a third of the size of the last one, Queen Elizabeth II’s, that took place back in 1953.

Whilst it was expected George, as second in line to the throne, would play a role, it wasn’t known until now if Charlotte and Louis would.

But both the older siblings took part in the Queen’s funeral - becoming the youngest members of the royal family ever to join such a procession.

A Palace insider told The Mirror that the inclusion of Archie and Lilibet at the official Coronation at Westminster Abbey had “never been a bone of contention” because small children were not expected to attend such an event “due to restlessness and tantrums”.

“However, what the Sussexes' are pushing for is for them to be included with the rest of the family at the Palace later that day.

"It's also Prince Archie's birthday on Coronation day so they would like some kind of nod to that at a lunch or drinks reception. Even if it's just a happy birthday mention."

They added that Harry and Meghan’s failure to officially accept their invitation until their demands were met could plunge the entire event into chaos.

The source said: "The Palace are trying to wrap up negotiations as quickly as possible because they can't go right up to the wire. It could lead to chaos.

"It could very well be that it ends in stalemate, and they won't attend. But the Palace is doing everything in its power to not let that happen.”

The source added the Sussexes are asking Palace aides to include them on the balcony with the rest of the Royal Family once the King has been crowned to wave to the crowds.

The insider said: “Once the King has been crowned, there will be a Coronation procession that will start at Westminster Abbey and end at Buckingham Palace. Once the procession reaches the Palace, the King will take to the balcony and wave at the crowds with the rest of the royal family members and their children.

“This is where Harry and Meghan have requested inclusion.”

The current balcony arrangement stands as working royals only.
