Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign recently addressed controversial remarks made by North Carolina gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson by sharing images of Robinson alongside former President Donald Trump.
The campaign's official social media account posted four photos showing Trump and Robinson together. The images depicted Trump smiling and giving a thumbs-up gesture in three of them, while the fourth showed the two men shaking hands at a campaign rally. Accompanying the photos was a caption that included a thumbs-up emoji.
In addition to the photos, the Harris campaign shared a video clip of Trump praising Robinson. In the video, Trump referred to Robinson as 'one of the great leaders in our country' and went on to say that Robinson was 'better than Martin Luther King.' The campaign overlaid an image of a news headline reporting on Robinson's controversial comments onto the video.
