One customer has shared some disgusting images of what the nozzle looks like at one of the self-service Costa Coffee machines.
Although the machine, which is located inside of a Co-op in Wales, is said to be cleaned on a daily basis there has been a new cleaning regime introduced. Since January this year, Joshua Thomas has been visiting the store and has been keeping a track record of what the machine looks like.
According to WalesOnline, he took images of the self-service machine on January 20, February 2, March 28, March 29 and April 11. Costa Coffee's self-service machines are located in many different stores across the UK along with service stations. Customers have the option to select both hot and iced beverages at the machine.

Taking to social media to share the disgusting images, Joshua revealed that he spoke to the workers inside Co-op who then questioned him on why he was taking images in the first place. However, Josh admitted he would give the store another chance to clean it more often but when he went back to inspect it again he called the machine the 'worst one' he's seen.
On his social media post, he said: "I'm am writing this on behalf of the people who actually use Costa Coffee machines, I am a big coffee drinker and used to use these machines very often but I have decided to make my own to take to work. I’ve made Co-op (Llandovery) aware of this situation which didn’t go so well as three workers started questioning why I’m taking photos and what I intended on doing with them.
"So I thought I’d give them a chance to clean it more often. So I went back and took another look and this coffee machine is the worst one I’ve ever seen."
Responding, a spokesperson for Co-op said that hygiene and food safety was of the 'utmost' importance to them. They stated that the Costa Coffee machine is cleaned daily.
They said: "Hygiene and food safety are of utmost importance to us and the Costa Coffee machine is cleaned daily as part of strict standards in store. However, we are introducing new cleaning methods to ensure the machine stays clean during busy periods.”
