Grok has rolled out a major new update that adds Grok Studio, code execution capabilities, and Google Drive integration to its platform. The update is already live for both free and premium users on grok.com.
Today, we are releasing the first version of Grok studio, adding code execution and google drive support.

The spotlight is on Grok Studio; it can generate documents, reports, code snippets, and even browser-based games. The tool allows users to collaborate with Grok in a separate window and is designed to make it easier for users to build and edit content interactively alongside the AI.
Moreover, the new code execution feature allows users to generate and run code directly within the platform. Interestingly, there’s also a preview tab that shows the output of code written in Python, C++, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and Bash. This feature can be a boon for testing out small scripts or building interactive elements like games and dashboards.

Create a side-scrolling dino runner game in js where the player controls a dinosaur that jumps using the spacebar or up arrow, avoids randomly spawning obstacles like cacti, accumulates score over time, and ends the game on collision. create html , js and css in one file pic.twitter.com/9iHsYpvGhN
For example, Grok can now generate a fully functional Dino Runner game using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in one file. It can also build a Stripe-style dashboard using React, complete with animations, charts, revenue stats, and sidebar navigation, by following Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines.
The update also brings Google Drive support, which allows users to attach and work with documents, spreadsheets, and slides stored in their Drive accounts. This feature can become particularly useful for obtaining real-world data or collaborating on ongoing projects directly within Grok.
With all these new features, it seems like the Elon Musk-led AI model doesn’t want to settle as just another chatbot. By adding new features from time to time, the company is trying to position itself as a lightweight development and productivity tool.
For example, Grok recently introduced a new API for its Grok 3 model. This gives developers direct access to the latest AI capabilities that were previously only available through X, the website, or mobile apps. With this, developers can now build their own applications and software powered by Grok 3, further expanding the ecosystem around the chatbot.
That’s not all. The company has hinted that more updates are coming later this week. So stay tuned for further changes as Grok continues to expand its use cases beyond simple AI interactions.
