Google Maps goes down with users unable to access navigation

The Google Maps application - used by many as a sat nav while driving - has reportedly gone down. The website Down Detector showed a spike in reports at around 3pm today.

British drivers have been forced to look for other ways to get to their destinations after the application went down, reports the Mirror. Social media has been swamped with users around the world stating their frustration.

Anna Harding, from London, tweeted: "Setting off on a 4 hour journey to Devon and Google Maps is down. You don’t realise how reliant you are on technology til it doesn’t work!"

Another user said on Twitter: "Of all things to be down today, it had to be google maps."

And another, Mike Lowrey, tweeted: "Great right when I need it Google Maps is down."
