With Valentine's Day on the horizon, supermarkets across the country are battling for shoppers attention by launching their own dine in deals for the most romantic night of the year.
Supermarkets such as Waitrose, M&S and Morrisons have all released their Valentine's meal deals and, with so many options to choose from, it can be difficult to find the best.
That's why Good Housekeeping magazine pitted the romantic meal deals against each other and had found that a bargain supermarket has taken the top spot.
The magazine's panel sampled a few dishes from eight different supermarkets and found that Aldi is offering shoppers the best romantic dinner for less this year.
With an impressive score of 92/100, the popular budget supermarket took the top spot from the more expensive option of M&S (second place) and Waitrose (third place.)
The supermarket wowed the judges with their range of SpecialBuy's that lets customers create their own menu from a variety of luxurious produce, including decadent Wagyu beef steaks to Scottish oysters and Specially Selected wines.
With prices ranging from 99p to £7.49, the supermarket's Valentines Day range is designed to tug on your heartstrings and not your purse strings.
Aldi's Managing Director Julie Ashfield said: "“We’re absolutely thrilled to have beaten more expensive supermarkets in the Good Housekeeping Institute’s annual Valentine’s Day Dine-In Taste Test.
"We’re committed to ensuring our customers have access to premium products at affordable prices, and we’re pleased to have this recognised.
“Our Valentine’s range is packed full of luxury meals that won’t break the bank, from our Specially Selected British Oysters to our Heart Shaped Macarons, there’s something for everyone.
"And when shoppers can get a three-course meal for as little as £2.54 per person, we’re sure they will enjoy the prices as much as they enjoy the food, which all lands in stores from 6 February.”
The announcement comes after Aldi only recently unveiled their romantic dine in meal deal for this year's February 14 with an impressive range.
Included in their menu are three a 3 course heart shaped meal, luxurious wagyu pies, a seafood lovers’ special, and a delicious plant-based option.
Aldi's Valentines menu will be available to shop in-stores from Sunday, February 6.
