Popular Gogglebox star Pete Sandiford has admitted he still has to keep his day job as his appearances on the hit show don't pay enough to cover his bills.
The dad-of-one from Blackpool has been a key part of the reality series since joining with his sister Sophie five years ago.
And despite being a household name now thanks to the show, he admits fame isn't enough to pay his bills.
The Channel 4 programme is said to pay £1,500 each month, but the 27-year-old says he needs to top that up with his roofer job.
Speaking to The Sun at the Tric Awards, he said: "We just saw Eamonn Holmes. I am just a builder from Blackpool, so it is a bit strange when celebrities know us. I was on a roof yesterday."
When he was asked whether he ever pondered quitting his day job, he honestly said: "I have got to pay my mortgage somehow."
Despite being a popular figure on the show, Pete went on to say he couldn't see himself taking part in any other reality show, joking that "nothing beats sitting on the sofa".
Away from the show, he also has two siblings who don't appear on the famous sofa.
He also recently tied the knot with wife Paige Yeomans and the couple have an almost one-year-old son named Jimmy Sandiford. His birth was announced by Pete in September last year.
While Paige hasn't yet appeared on Gogglebox, toddler Jimmy has featured alongside his dad and aunty, with fans even calling for him to be a regular cast member.
Meanwhile, elsewhere at the Tric Awards, Roman Kemp opened up on why he does the celebrity version of the show with his dad Martin Kemp.
The presenter, 29, said: "Gogglebox I do because it's with my dad [Martin Kemp].
"Literally, the reason I chose Gogglebox is that I know that when I'm older and and when he's not here anymore, I can say to my kids and my grandkids 'this was the relationship I had with my dad.' So that's why I do it."
