It has just been announced that Greta Thunberg will be making a surprise appearance on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival later today (June 25). The climate change activist will be speaking to a crowd of thousands before American pop rock band, Haim, take to the stage.
Greta Thunberg has made a strong impression on Bristol and surrounding areas, with her landmark speech on College Green in February 2020 as she joined thousands in the Youth Strike for Climate throughout the city centre going down in local history. The Swedish environmental activist is 19-years-old and has inspired millions across the globe.
Today (June 25) she will take to the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival for another landmark speech. Her surprise appearance has just been announced on the official Glastonbury app.

Glastonbury Festival has a proud political and environmental ethos. In 2019, the Festival became single-use plastic-free, and this year festival organisers Michael and Emily Eavis are ensuring that all crisps sold on site are in compostable bags.
Festival goers were encouraged to take public transport and cycle to this year's Festival, and non-biodegradable wipes and single-use plastic are discouraged. Greta Thunberg will join a star-studded line-up on tonight's Pyramid Stage which includes American band Haim, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and Sir Paul McCartney.
