George Michael's family gave their blessing to a fan to publicly share that the late music star had secretly paid for her IVF journey.
Jo Maidment appeared on This Morning in 2010 to discuss her heartbreak after being told she wasn't allowed fertility treatment as her husband had a child from another relationship.
Shortly after her appearance, Jo received a mystery call from a PA named Michelle who stated that an anonymous businessman wanted to help the couple to become parents.
However, the man in question wanted to remain completely anonymous but he later revealed his identity following the birth of her daughter, Betsy.
Ahead of his birthday on Sunday, Jo appeared on This Morning with her daughter Betsy, 11, to share her experience with the Careless Whisper musician.
Discussing his tragic death aged 53 in 2016, Jo explained: "I text Michelle and I asked if we could go public just to say thank you and she said 'Absolutely, with the full backing of his family,', as Dermot added: "That's so nice."
"He helped so many people, didn't he, he really did," gushed host Alison Hammond.
Jo explained that after one round of IVF, she suffered a miscarriage but later conceived with help from another frozen embryo.
She went on to add that as Betsy was getting older and began to understand life more, she explained that George was "Mummy and Daddy's special friend and he helped us become happy."
George revealed his identity shortly after Betsy was born, with Jo explaining: "We got home, a bunch of flowers turned up with a card and that's when it was revealed who it was."
Betsy later read the card out which read: "Congratulations to you both, lots of love to Betsy. Love from Michelle and George Michael AKA Anonymous."
"You're such a class act, the condition was," said Dermot before continuing: "You kept your anonymity, well not condition but he really wanted you to," as Jo said: "We wanted to as he'd gone above and beyond to help us, I wanted to respect his privacy."
Prior to his death, Jo kept George's incredible secret to herself, with the only other person out of their family, This Morning's agony aunt Denise Richards knowing.
"Don't worry, your secret's safe with me," she told the family.
The family sent George photographs of Betsy when she was born and on her first day of school.
