Gardai launch probe after body found in laneway in Dublin city centre

Gardai have launched an investigation after the body of a man was discovered in a laneway in Dublin city centre in the early hours of Monday morning.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on Loftus Lane at around 3am on Monday.

The man in question received treatment at the scene but was pronounced dead.

It is believed that he was found in a tent on the lane.

A Garda spokesperson told the Irish Mirror: "The scene remains preserved this morning and a post-mortem will now be arranged, the results of which will determine the course of the investigation."
