Futuristic North Dublin restaurant welcomes robot waitress to serve customers

Dublin's first 5D Music Japanese Restaurant, Senbazuru Izakaya is embracing the future of dining by welcoming a new member of staff, a robot waitress.

The Fairview restaurant is full of high-tech elements and they serve a range of food from ramen dishes to sushi - and now, they’re brought to the table by an electronic human.

A member of staff from Senbazuru Izakaya told Dublin Live: “The robot is called Bella and she’s so cute. Not only can she bring food and drinks for customers, but she can also interact with customers.

“For example, when we touch her head, she will say your hand is so warm or sometimes she gets angry when you don’t stop touching her ears.”

Bella came all the way from China and there’s many perks to having her as an employee. Not only does she entertain customers, but she can carry eight different meals to a table at once. But thankfully, Bella hasn't replaced any staff members, although she is great, she doesn't have the same communication skills as a human employee.

Bella Bot (Senbazuru Izakaya)

“With the widespread application of artificial intelligence, technology restaurants that are in movies are now appearing in real life. The Bella Bot can help save delivery time, allowing customers to enjoy the food in the shortest possible time.

“She can deliver at least eight different dishes at a time and we hope all of our customers have the best dining experience with her. She even reduces human contact which makes our customers feel more secure when they come to dine in our restaurant.

"Robots can deliver more food at a time than an average staff but our staff are better at communicating with customers. Robots and staff each have their own advantages- and when they work together, it's a win-win!"
