Freddie Flintoff was left embarrassed on Tuesday as This Morning aired a clip of him looking “clueless” while hosting The Games alongside Holly Willoughby.
The 44-year-old presenter appeared on the ITV daytime programme alongside Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris to chat about the explosive new series of Top Gear.
But the conversation turned to Freddie’s turn as the host of The Games, a five night celebrity sporting competition that saw 12 famous faces take on a string of Olympic events.
This Morning hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary asked Freddie how the hosting gig was alongside the show’s regular host.
Freddie replied: “It was good wasn’t it? She looked after me, didn’t she, with me on live tele.”
Alison replied: “You looked so good together though! I love how you kept matching your outfits. Look at you together, you look so good.”
The ITV show then played a clip of the pair of them presenting at the London Aquatics Centre and there was silence as Freddie was seen sitting looking at Holly and the camera expressionless.
As the clip continued, laughter erupted in the This Morning studio from Top Gear’s Paddy and Chris.
Freddie complained giggling: “I just look clueless! Thanks for that, bloody hell.”
Paddy then joked: “He’s won the competition to host the show with Holly Willoughby.”
Freddie replied: “Dermot will be doing series two,” as he then stood up and joked: “I’m off. I look like a meerkat asking how did I get here.”
Freddie then pretended to walk away in a huff before returning to the This Morning sofa as Alison hilariously admitted: “We should have got a better clip.”
Love Island star Wes Nelson bagged the top prize for the men whilst singer and songwriter Chelcee Grimes found herself at the top of the leaderboard for the women on The Games.
Speaking after his win, Wes said: "Aw man, it's great. The boys have been great pushing each other."
Whilst Chelcee was left briefly speechless by her success, managing to add: "I just want to say a huge thank you to all the girls. I'm so proud of you all so shout out to you all."
At the end of the live shows, Holly threw caution to the wind and dove into the pool at the London Aquatics Centre fully clothed alongside fellow presenter Freddie.
The Games presenters were seen giggling poolside before they pulled themselves out and shared a hug.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITV Hub.
