Four more Covid-related deaths have been recorded in the Bristol region, as case numbers continue to rise today (January 26).
Two people in Bristol and two in South Gloucestershire have died within 28 days of testing positive for the virus.
It means that 1,444 Covid deaths have been recorded in the region - which also includes North Somerset - since the pandemic began.

And across the UK, 346 more people have died in the last day, bringing the total national number to 154,702 people.
Coronavirus cases are still rising too, with 1,761 new positive tests recorded in the Bristol region today - 274 more than were recorded yesterday.
Meanwhile, across the UK, 102,292 people have tested positive in the latest 24 hours on record, a rise of almost 8,000 compared to yesterday.

There has been speculation recently that the wave sparked by the highly contagious Omicron variant may have peaked.
On January 4, Bristol saw a record 1,539 new cases of the virus, while North Somerset recorded a record 574 new cases, and South Gloucestershire a record 314 a day earlier on January 3.
Since then, the number of new cases declined quickly, but that decline stopped on January 15, and cases are now rising again.

And the latest statistics show that 207 Covid-19 patients are in hospital across Bristol's two health trusts as of January 18, while six of those are in intensive care.
