Speaking exclusively to Dublin Live Kathyrn tells us of how she landed the big gig: "It came out of nowhere; I couldn't believe I landed the part to be honest and its actually exciting now it's going to be released out into the world.
"My Character Saoirse, who is so like me in many ways, is a sassy little fiery thing who runs a post office in Kilkenny with her brother where a great adventure, a wild goose chase essentially starts to happen from.
"There were about 10 -15 American crew who came over to Kilkenny to join the Irish team and we all just mucked in but when it came to filming it was a very intense experience. It was my first ever feature film and my first real dipping my toe into that world, a baptismal of fire I tell you but I wouldn't have had it any other way.
"Richard McWilliams who plays my brother William, worked with the production company involved before, he was great on set to be with and gave me some good advice. It was so cool to be playing opposite him in the film."
When Kathryn was just 19 years of age, she became The Dens fifth full time solo presenter after Francis Boylan Jnr, Damien McCaul, Ray Darcy and Ian Dempsey. She interviewed Ireland football legend Roy Keane, Miley Cyrus in her Hannah Montana days and the main man himself Santa in Lapland. And of course she got to work alongside Zig and Zag, Snotser, Soky, Zuppy and the brilliant Dustin the Turkey.
Love Portrait premieres on Hallmark Movie and Mysteries Channel on September 4 at 9pm.
