Foodies praise Bristol noodle bar Tomo No Ramen as ‘possibly the best ramen place in the UK’

Bristol restaurant Tomo No Ramen has won praise from diners who says it's got some of the best ramen in the country. Almost a year since its debut as a permanent restaurant in West Street, the restaurant has already been shortlisted for a national award and continues to wow food lovers.

On Google, the eatery has 4.8 stars out of five in its reviews. Local guide Joyce Ho wrote: “Tomo no Ramen has set a new bar for ramen in Bristol. The changing menu reflects the chef's pick of the best ingredients. And it's evident in the food. We had the sapporo miso ramen, kare miso ramen as well as oyster mushroom and chicken karaage.

“Miso-based ramen is perfect for the cold winter months and it felt like a warm embrace with each sip of the broth. The noodles themselves had the perfect bite and the chashu was delicious. I wish there was more of it! As for the karaage, the chicken was bursting with juice and the coating was crunchy. We had the pleasure of speaking to the head chef too. He sounded very passionate about his craft having spent time in Japan.”

Josh Pinto added: “The best ramen outside Japan hands down! Look no further. Tasty, attention to detail, bags of flavour and quick service. So glad to have you guys at my doorstep! Chicken karaage is fantastic.” Martin Homden agreed, writing: “Possibly the best ramen place in the UK. Been a couple of times now, really enjoyed it.”

This led to the eventual launch of pop-up events, in partnership with Matsudai Ramen, and later quit his full-time job to focus his full attention on Tomo No Ramen.
