A Ukrainian artist has created a mural near Newcastle's Tyne Bridge to show solidarity with those affected by Russia's war on Ukraine.
Andriy Demchak moved to Newcastle from Ukraine 14 years ago to work as an artist and marketing director. But after war broke out in his native country he wanted to do something simple and effective to help spread awareness of the troubles faced at home in Ukraine.
And he quickly got to work creating a mural that would be seen by hundreds of people commuting into Newcastle city centre every day.

"I wanted to create something simple that people will recognise and will see every day as they cross the famous Tyne Bridge.", Andriy said.
His mural of a Ukraine flag is displayed on the side of a building to the left of the Tyne Bridge heading towards Newcastle. Some of the bricks surrounding the flag have also been painted in the flag's colours, yellow and blue.
The mural is a reminder of the horrific events which have been taking place in Ukraine following Russian president Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine on February 24. Since then, millions of people have fled from Ukraine in a desperate attempt to escape the war-torn country.
And communities across the North East have been doing what they can to help refugees fleeing Ukraine, donating essential items such as clothes, toiletries, nappies, money and medical supplies.
