Avon and Somerset Police have issued a temporary closure order on a property in Bristol following reports of suspected crime and antisocial behaviour earlier this year.
Bristol Magistrates' Court heard evidence of criminality and anti-social behaviour linked to the flat in Wharf Road, Fishponds, between March and August 2022. The force also reported in a 'prevention' statement on Tuesday (November 8) that they received a 'number of messages from community members concerned about what was happening' at the address.
Over the summer officers carried out a warrant at the flat and found evidence suggesting drugs were being used by people entering the property. In the statement Avon and Somerset Police added that despite attempts by the property's owner, they needed to step in to help 'resolve the situation.'

Kris Harris, who is a Neighbourhood Inspector, said they were "delighted" that there has been a closure order issued by the courts. She added that residents reported feeling "distressed" with the issues happening within their area.
She said: “We are delighted magistrates have supported our application for a three-month closure order at this address, because we’d heard several residents tell us the distress the issues were causing them.
“Within 24 hours of the order being confirmed we received a message of thanks from one member of the public who said it was a ‘relief’ to learn it had been granted, adding ‘it’ll take a while to sink in’.
“Nobody should have their life made a misery because of antisocial behaviour or crime, so we’d continue to urge anyone who is experiencing such difficulties in their neighbourhood to report it to police over the phone or on our website.”
