First look at 224 new homes being built at new development in Northenden

A new housing development in Northenden has released the first look images of it's proposed homes.

The development, by Miller Homes, is part of their flagship Varsity Quarter on Sale Road and will soon see 224 stylish three and four bed homes on the former college campus.

The new houses are being offered in a variety of building styles, each named after Manchester icons including the Turing, the Pankhurst and the Lowry.

The Lowry home is a four bedroom house which includes an open plan kitchen diner.

The Turing house is a three bed, with an en-suite to the master and french doors to the rear garden.

The new community of homes will be located between Wythenshawe Park and the M60, with local amenities close by.

Work on the development is ongoing, with the hope for the sales centre to open in Spring and completions on properties to be possible in the summer.

45 of the 224 homes will be affordable, with the sales of these properties operated by an external housing provider.

Due to the development’s location, the previous Manchester College Northenden campus, Miller Homes have agreed to help fund improvements to sports facilities at Wythenshawe Park.

This is due to the development being built on the college’s playing fields.

Furthermore, the home builders are also providing funding for improved sustainable transport links and a new bus shelter.

The redevelopment of the site is expected to create 111 jobs over six years.
