Firefighters used water from a nearby swimming pool to help put out a blaze.
A detached house caught fire on Hale Road, Speke, at around 10.50pm on Monday, October 10. Crews from Widnes, Runcorn and Speke fought the blaze through the night after arriving at the scene and finding the property well alight.
At 11.20pm, a spokesperson for Cheshire fire service said a portable pump was used to get water to the fire from a nearby swimming pool. An aerial appliance was also used to get water to the roof, where the fire was described as "well developed."

Hale Road was closed in both direction between Eastern Avenue and Ramsbrook Lane while emergency services dealt with the fire. Crews are now dampening down the area and will start an investigation into the cause of the fire soon.
In the latest statement, Cheshire fire and rescue service said: "Firefighters worked throughout the night, with the incident being reduced to two fire engines. They were using main jets to continue tackling the fire and the electricity company was at the scene isolating the electricity supply.
"The exterior of the property was monitored using a thermal imaging camera and, at 6.29am, the incident was reduced to one fire engine. Firefighters continued to damp down the rear of the property from the outside using a main jet.
