Fire crews have warned drivers to take extra care in icy conditions after attending a number of collisions on Friday. Dublin Fire Brigade said that they and paramedic crews had attended several crashes across the city after temperatures plummeted to leave roads and pavements hazardously slippery.
With freezing conditions set to continue over the weekend and possibly into next week, drivers have been advised to be more cautious on the roads. “Firefighter/Paramedics were called to a number of RTCs across the city in which the icy road conditions played a part,” Dublin Fire Brigade wrote on Twitter on Friday night.
“While most main roads are treated, secondary roads and estates may not be. Expect ice and drive to the conditions, even if that means not driving.”
