The tenth instalment of the hugely successful Fast and the Furious franchise is set for a massive opening weekend - with Fast X expected to earn close to £240m worldwide off the bat.
With its high-octane saga revolving around street racing, heists, spies, and family pride, the series' consistent pulling power at the box office has seen it rake in more than £4.8bn over the years.
The movies started out as fairly gritty but rapidly took on a more glossy Hollywood sheen as audiences demanded more bang for their buck.
Fast X is the follow-up to F9, released in 2021.
The latest in the franchise, released on Friday, has racer and mechanic Dom Toretto ( Vin Diesel ) battling to protect his crew and family from Dante Reyes, the son of a drug lord, seeking revenge for the loss of his family's fortune following a heist in Rio de Janeiro.
