THE family of two sisters missing from Aberdeen have been informed following the discovery of a second body in the River Dee.
Police found a body in an area of the river near to the Victoria Bridge at around 9.05pm on Friday and it was subsequently recovered.
Formal identification has yet to take place, but the family of Eliza Huszti has been informed.
It comes following the discovery of the body of a woman in the River Dee around 7.55am on the same day. Police Scotland said the Huszti family had been informed.
Inquires remain ongoing but there are no apparent suspicious circumstances.
Henrietta and Eliza Huszti, both 32 and part of a set of triplets, were last seen on the city’s Market Street on January 7 before crossing Victoria Bridge and turning onto a footpath by the River Dee.
Their disappearance sparked a major search and rescue operation, but police confirmed on Monday that searches of the River Dee and harbour area had ended.
Superintendent David Howieson said: “Our thoughts remain with the Huszti family and we are keeping them fully updated following these recoveries.
“We know how much of an impact this has had in Aberdeen and much further afield and I would like to thank everyone who has assisted with our investigation.”
