Fallon Sherrock is relieved to be avoiding 'World War 3' after not being drawn against boyfriend Cameron Menzies at the World Darts Championships. Sherrock returns to Alexandra Palace this month for her third appearance at the major event.
One man who will also be there is Menzies, as he appears at the championships for the very first time in the career. Unsurprisingly, both were keen to catch a glimpse of this week's draw for the event.
And as unseeded players, it was possible that both Sherrock and Menzies could be drawn together and battle it out on the biggest stage in darts.
The couple did manage to avoid each other though, despite both names still being left in the hat late on. As a result, Sherrock will kick her tournament off against Ricky Evans, whilst Menzies will take on Diogo Portela.
Missing out on the chance to take on each other was music to the ears of the darting couple, with Sherrock claiming it would be 'war' in their house if they were to meet at the Ally Pally. Prior to the draw, she said: "From an emotional point of view, it would be harder.
"Ability-wise, it would be harder because he’s a good darts player. I think it would cause World War 3. Somebody would be moving home!”
The feeling was clearly mutual with Menzies, who also admitted his relief of not having to take on his girlfriend. The Scottish star revealed the pair actually followed the draw from separate rooms in the house, and as it went on nerves began to grow.

“I was sitting here, playing on the computer, and she was in the kitchen watching it,” the 33-year-old told Tungsten Tales. " It was getting to the later stages and we were like ‘it’s going to happen’.
"I’m quite glad we didn’t [draw each other]. It wouldn’t have been a good time in the house if we’d played each other.” Despite not being drawn together in London, Sherrock did reveal they do often compete at home.
"Sometimes he batters me on the board, sometimes I batter him on the board, he can’t get near me," she said. "It's swings and roundabouts. It’s good to have someone who plays darts at this level, who can understand everything I’m going through as well.”
