A tree has fallen onto the train tracks in Wirral, causing rush hour travel disruption.
Merseytravel services from Hoylake have been cancelled due to the obstruction on the tracks. As a result, a rail replacement bus service has now been put in operation.
The bus will take passengers between West Kirby and Hoylake in both directions until the tree can be removed from the tracks. It is not yet known how the tree fell onto the tracks, however strong winds have been reported across Merseyside this morning.

Merseyrail has said that Network Rail Liverpool are now on site and are assessing the issue and working to remove the tree. They estimate that the tree might take an hour to remove from the tracks.
A spokesperson has also thanked passengers to their patience and understanding while they fix the issue. They said: "Due to a fallen tree blocking the tracks between Hoylake and West Kirby disruption is expected.
"Train services from West Kirby will be terminated at and started back from Hoylake. Replacement road transport services are conveying passengers between Hoylake and West Kirby in both directions until further notice."
